Alex Golesh wants the Auburn Tigers all the way locked in during fall camp ahead of the 2026 season.
Golesh and his staff is taking the extra step to make sure this happens over the next week or so.
"We're going in this afternoon to the Marriott out at the golf course," Golesh told reporters on Tuesday during his introductory fall camp press conference. "We've got 13 days there as a team. Reasoning there is just to be able to take the guys, move them off campus, eliminate every single bit of distractions we possibly can, and we got 13 days. That's how it was presented to the team.
They're excited about it. There's no nothing. No girlfriends, no dogs, cats, whatever guys are into. It's truly just us for the next 13 days, which is absolutely huge for us. We need it. The time in college football is different where the guys really don't ever leave, so they're around all the time. But this is the one time where there's absolutely zero distractions. We're gonna go 13 days up until school starts. The way the calendar falls this year, school will actually be in session for really the last week of camp, so that'll be a little bit unique. That hasn't happened in quite a while, but we'll work through that as we get there. We've got five days here leading up to an off day, and then we've got a 4-day block finishing with a scrimmage, and then we've got another four-day block leading into an off day. We've got a two-day block that will finish on that Saturday with a parent picnic and an alumni picnic all combined together to finish off that Saturday."
The Tigers are set to officially kick off fall camp Wednesday in Auburn. The 2026 college football season kicks off for teh Tigers in Atlanta when they take on the Baylor Bears.
