Auburn is set to take on Baylor to kick off the 2026 college football season from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Here are some notes from warm ups:
- Byrum Brown was warming up throwing a lot on the run. Everyone knows the Auburn quarterback is a dual-thereat weapon, and it is no surprise to see him attempting to get throwing the football ahead of his first game as a Tiger.
- The crowd in Atlanta looks to be leaning heavily toward the Auburn Tigers. This was evident in pregame warmups. The Tigers were met with roaring applause when they entered the field. Baylor was met with powerful boos ringing across the stadium.
- Sylvester Smith-Reed, Eric Winters, Rayshawn Pleasant and Andre Jordan were featured among the starters for Auburn in the secondary during warmups. Anquon Fegans and Kaleb Harris are expected to also be a part of the Tigers' rotation here.
- Elijah Melendez and Xavier Atkins worked closed together at inside linebackers in warmups. The pair is expected to work together a lot in this one at the second level of the Auburn defense. De'Marcus Riddick will be involved here as well.
