Auburn is on a BYE week and a pair of its remaining opponents are squaring off against one another Saturday in Tuscaloosa.
Alabama and Georgia are set to go at in a top-10 matchup. The Bulldogs will take on the Tigers next week after they tangled with the Crimson Tide. Auburn will travel to take on Alabama in the Iron Bowl in November.
With the Tigers on a BYE week, Alex Golesh was asked will he be watching the Alabama vs. Georgia game on Saturday.
"Really closely," Golesh said.
The Auburn head coach hopes to use the Tigers' BYE week to reset and take advantage of an opportunity to get ready for Georgia.
"I think like I mentioned earlier, it's really important," Golesh said while discussing Auburn's BYE week. "It gives you the ability to reset. It gives you the ability to study yourself, where normal game week, you're studying what you've done, but it lets you take a deeper dive. And then it gives you an extra week to prepare for one of the best teams in the country if not the best team in the country here in Georgia. It's big. It comes at a good time, and we certainly need it."
Auburn will return to action on Oct. 17 when the Tigers travel to Athens to take on the Bulldogs.
