Alex Golesh met with the Tigers' leadership council following the Tigers' loss to the Floirida Gators.
The council and Golesh meet every Monday to discuss the current status of the team.
"I meet with the leadership council on Monday morning, and that's every Monday regardless of outcome, and essentially, talk to where we are as a team, get a player perspective on it," Golesh said during the SEC Coaches Teleconference on Wednesday. "Give them my coach perspective on it. We talk through what's got to get done, what message needs to get reverberated in the locker room, and it's consistent every week."
Monday's meeting this week focused on the response to the Tigers' first loss of the season.
"Obviously, this Monday, we talked about... our first bit of real, tough, hard , how we respond is ultimately how we will get defined, and for us to get back on track, what's got to happen," Golesh said. "And that was the conversation."
The Auburn head coach gave an update on how his team has responded this week on Wednesday, and he is optimistic about their approach halfway through the week.
"I thought it was slow, honestly, Monday into Tuesday, our guys, you could still sense that there's frustration and disappointment, and, again, it's on us as coaches, to snap out of it," Golesh said. "We gotta push these guys past that point, and you're happy that they're not happy with it, but there is a sense of, you gotta move on. It a long season. You gotta go, and I thought much better response today, and more than anything, just a sense of urgency. And felt like I saw that today in practice."
The Tigers will be back in action Saturday when Auburn hosts Vanderbilt.
