Da'Sahawn Womack was named to the 2026 College Football Freaks List by The Athletic, and the Tide's Buck/Edge coach Coleman Hutzler is excited to watch Womack live up to the billing.
Womack transferred to Auburn from Ole Miss after one season with the Rebels. He spent two seasons with LSU before going to Oxford. He has compiled 48 tackles, 7 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks during the last three seasons. Hutzler told reporters Tuesday all signs point to Womack making plays for the Tigers this fall.
"I'm excited for Woe, man," Hutzler said. "I think, you know, he's worked his butt off, man. He's been through a lot, his third school now. He's really jumped into our room, jumped into our defense, and been a great guy to provide energy and enthusiasm. And he practices the right way, man. Hey, nobody's perfect, right? Hey, none of us are. But man, he brings the right approach every day, and he's gonna be a big-time playmaker for us."
The Athletic reported Hutzler turned in some freak-like numbers this offseason when he clocked in at 21.6 mph on the GPS, squatted 565 pounds and bench-pressed 350 pounds.
Auburn fans will get their first look at Womack in meaningful action in an Auburn uniform when the Tigers take on Baylor on Sept. 5 in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
