Auburn football's offensive coordinator Joel Gordon feels the Tigers' rushing attack is trending upwards ahead of Auburn facing Florida on Saturday.

The Tigers rushed for 343 yards against Southern Miss in its 43-8 win over the Golden Eagles. Three different Tiger running backs picked up more than 40 rushing yards against Southern Miss. Omar Mabson led the Tigers on the ground with 108 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries while averaging 7.2 yards per carry.

Gordon discussed the Tigers' rushing attack while talking to reporters on Monday.

“It felt a lot different than the first game, just to get those first three guys on the field as much as we did, and they were all productive," Gordon said. "As coaches, you obviously get more opportunities to evaluate in a game, strengths and weaknesses and how they react to the situations they were in. It was good to get all of them out there. Omar (Mabson II), he made some good gains out of his opportunities. It was good to see Bryson (Washington) being able to stick his foot in the ground and get going. That's the first time, not the first time we've seen it, but obviously the first time in a game that he's been able to get out there and open up his stride and run, and it looked good. We have work to do. Obviously, (Jeremiah) Cobb did some good things as well. It's, keep moving. We have to get better there. When you look at those first three guys that are on the field at that position, those are three guys that you feel like you can go out there and compete with, for sure.”

Auburn will return to action Saturday to take on the Gators in Jordan-Hare Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
