Vanderbilt's head coach Clark Lea wants to eliminate Auburn football's ability to create explosive scores on Saturday.
The Tigers have created their fair share of explosive plays this season. Several of them have come as a result of Byrum Brown, but only four of the Tigers' scores have been a result of a play that went more than 15 yards.
Lea and Commodores want to keep Auburn's explosive scores to a minimal on Saturday.
"My challenge to the defense is no explosive touchdowns this week," Lea said. "And, you know, let's see how many field goals we can force in situations where the ball gets down in tight spaces. That that becomes a winning formula for us. I don't want to lose any of the aggressiveness that we've created in the way we pressure. It's just we got to be responsible with it and we got to make sure we're playing our defense outside of those moments."
The Tigers and the Commodores will get after it Saturday in Jordan-Hare Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:15 p.m. CT, and the game will be broadcasted on the SEC Network.
