Auburn is set to face another freshman quarterback and a former five-star on Saturday.
Fresh off facing Jared Curtis, the Tigers are gearing up to face Faizon Brandon and Tennessee. Auburn football's head coach Alex Golesh feels the quarterback presents the Tigers with yet another challenge.
"Offensively, freshman quarterback, he's going into his fifth game," Golesh said. "He's had some really, really bright moments. Obvioulsy, Uber talented. I feel like I am echoing last week, arm talent is real from everything you see, makes the right reads, highly intelligent, gets rid of the ball quick. He can do really big time damage with his feet. Really powerful runner, really strong runner. He's pulled it down. It'll be a big challenge for our defense to make sure that we're able to contain them and be able to stop what these guys are doing."
Brandon has thrown for 697 yards and seven touchdowns through four games, and he has yet to throw an interception. He has also rushed for 139 yards and three touchdowns.
Golesh feels Brandon's upside combined with the weapons he has around will force the Auburn defense to be on their A game.
"They will force you to tackle in space. They will force you to tackle on the perimeter, and they've got as real of speed as there is on the outside, very well coached, really good scheme. It'll be a big challenge for us and offensively. The tempo piece of what they do offensively."
Auburn and the Vols will get going in a SEC matchup Saturday in Knoxville. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT.
