The Auburn Tigers are preparing for yet another SEC matchup with the Tigers set to travel to Tennessee on Saturday.
The Tigers are looking to carry momentum from their first SEC home win since 2024 against Vanderbilt on the road. Auburn's head coach Alex Golesh feels it is very important that the Tiger offense gets rolling faster than ever in this one.
"We've got to do a really good job protecting the quarterback and we've got to find a way to get going early," Golesh told reporters. "We got to continue to find ways to establish the run game and continue to be the best version of us, but they create a lot of havoc. Got high-end speed at both first level, second level, third level. They do a really good job."
Jim Knowles was hired as Tennessee's defensive coordinator in December of 2025. His unit has gotten to opposing quarterbacks 19 times through four games and is limiting offenses to 282.2 yards per game.
"These guys defensively, it is new,' Golesh said. "New defensive coordinator who obviously got four games. We've got a ton of film from years past. There's some familiarity with him and the scheme. These kids defensively play really, really hard and they're uber talented. They've affected the quarterback every week. They certainly did a week ago."
Auburn and Tennessee will get after it Saturday with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. CT.
