Auburn football's wide receiver coach Kodi Burns feels his unit has proven they can make plays in the SEC through four games.

Multiple players followed Alex Golesh to Auburn from USF including five wide receivers. Burns discussed the development of this group Monday during a press conference.

“The biggest thing is that they proven that they belong in this league," Burns said. "You look at a guy like Keshaun Singleton, who the moment is never too big for. (He) seems to make a play, and I talk about this all the time, I think games are won in moments, and you look at this Vanderbilt game this past week, right there right on key, a five-step route to really finish the game and close the game out and made a big time play with his hands. I think Chas (Nimrod) is a guy that is really explosive, like I’ve been talking about. (He) can stretch the field vertically, is a really good route runner. Those two guys have done a tremendous job of showing up in this league and making plays. As we continue to grow, really with the young guys, you look at a guy like DeShawn Spencer, who is playing a ton of ball right now. Brian Williams Jr. saw some action a few weeks ago. He is improving, and (Christian) Neptune and Jeremiah Koger as well. We have plenty of guys right now that I think are playing at a really good level."

Singleton, Nimrod and Koger lead the Tigers in receiving. All three of them transferred to Auburn from USF. Singleton is the Tigers' leading wide receiver with 268 receiving yards and one touchdown on 22 catches. Nimrod has also pulled in 22 receptions.

Burns feels it is important this group continues to improve.

" We have to continue to improve each and every day," Burns told reporters. "They're only going to get harder from here on out. We've done a good job up until this point, but we know what is coming in front of us here pretty quick, so we have to continue to improve.”

Auburn will be back in action Saturday when the Tigers take ion Tennessee.
