Auburn football's offense flashed what it could look like while operating at a high level against Georgia.

Unfortunately for the Tigers, that same level of execution did not show up against LSU Saturday in a 38-17 loss. The Tigers' starting quarterback Byrum Brown finished the game with 160 passing yards. He also led the Tigers on the ground with 21 rushing yards. The Auburn offense was 5-of-16 on third down in the loss. Alex Golesh feels it is important that the Auburn offense shakes this performance off ahead of facing Ole Miss.

"I think it's the next step for us in our growth to be able to get rid of whatever happened on Saturday," Golesh said. "Wipe it clean, reset and go. I told our guys this morning, we've had the ability to reset as this year's gone. We’ve had to lick our wounds, come back, and play good football. And that's the challenge to us. I told them, if we don't, it'll be a really long week. If we do, we got an opportunity to go on the road and beat a really good football team, which is what's expected of us.”

The Ole Miss defense is giving up 394 yards per game. Golesh feels this strength of this unit is the experience of the Ole Miss defenders.

“Offensively, this defense is a veteran group," Golesh told reporters. "That's the thing that stands out. It's all seniors and juniors, guys that have played a ton of football," Golesh said. "Guys that have been in that system. Although new coordinator, a lot of similarities, and a lot of physicality as you look at, the lines of scrimmage. That for us is going to be the biggest challenge. We got to do a really, really good job of establishing the run game as we always do. We got to do a really good job of not turning the football over, creating turnovers and allowing ourselves to have extra possessions. It'll be a really, big challenge for us."

Byrum Brown and company will look to get back to their full potential on the road Saturday at Ole Miss.
